Some of my favorite childhood memories were made during long summer days at Virginia Beach and drives around the Chesapeake Bay. As the sun slipped below the horizon, the water reflected shades of violet, blue, and pink, and for just a few moments, the whole world seemed quieter. That feeling has stayed with me ever since.

Chesapeake at Twilight was born from those memories.

Inspired by that fleeting hour between day and night, it begins as a rich, moody purple. As it dries,soft blue and pink undertones slowly emerge, changing with the light and the angle of the page.
