How did you fall down the rabbit hole of fountain pens and stationery? AKA, the moment that made you fall in love with writing tools and supplies.
I have loved pens all my life. As far back as I can remember I’ve always bought cute, pretty, colorful pens. My grandmother and aunt did calligraphy when I was young and I loved watching them letter greeting cards, I would say that started it. I found my way into fountain pens in 2013 when I walked into a local shop for a Filofax refill and saw a bunch of fountain pens in a case. He sold me a Schaffer 100, I do still have that pen.
What do you do for work? Is there any way this hobby is intermingled with your work?
I’m a Branch Manager for a staffing company. I use my pens everyday at work.
What else are you in to that you would like to share with people to better know you?
Planner, Stationery, art, crocheting, chainmaille jewelry, pretty much anything that can add color to my life.
What words/quote would you like to share to other aspiring creatives?
Maya Angelou said “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” Oh and Nike said it best “Just Do It” haha
What do you believe is the best starter fountain pen? Where should people start?
I would say if you aren’t scared of getting inky a TWSBI is a great starter pen, lots of ink and a good solid writer. If you don’t want to mess with bottles of ink then a Pilot Kakuno is my top choice for cost, function, and it’s cute.
What's your go-to pen and ink combo?
Wow that’s a tough choice. With more than 100 pens and 400 ink choices in my collection I don’t know that I could say I have one go to pen/ink combo. Honestly whatever pen I am using in the moment, if I don’t like it I empty it and move on to the next.
What's your favorite color? :)
Green is my overall favorite, but purple is my favorite right now.
