When creating the holiDAY pen, my goal was to highlight a holiday that isn’t widely recognized in America as other holidays, using a BENU model that’s equally under appreciated. I believe we achieved that beautifully. Ironically, it’s releasing at a time when its message of unity feels more important than ever. I also worked with Tono and Lims to create equally as fun inks so you can participate in Holi in your own fountain pen way. I hope this is a stepping stone for you to check out Holi yourself and learn even more about it.

The BENU × @wastedpaper holiDAY Fountain Pen celebrates Holi and Independence Day through vibrant design.

Holi is a vibrant Hindu festival that paints the streets of India in every imaginable hue to welcome spring and celebrate the triumph of good over evil, righteousness over injustice. Occurring on the last full moon day of the lunar month (typically March), it is a time of renewal where social barriers dissolve and people  celebrate the beginning of spring, love, and new life.

Embodied by the DailyMate pen model, it features an acrylic resin body with multicolor glitter accents and silver shimmer, capturing the explosive energy of fireworks and the colorful powders of Holi. The translucent grip and finial showcase the pen's playful aesthetic. It uses a stainless steel Schmidt #6 nib and accepts cartridges or a converter. The set includes a special gift box, blue ink cartridge, converter, four 15ml Tono & Lims ink bottles, and warranty card, everything you need to write with intention and color.
