Their Story
Timothy's appreciation for pens started as a collector, but ultimately, he decided he wanted to try his hand at making them himself. When the time came, Tim posted to a public forum seeking some direction, and Greg Hardy of Hardy Penwrights invited Tim to his shop and taught him how to turn pens. From there, Tim developed as a maker and expanded into making blanks, too. Inspiration comes from all over. Tim has a folder of photos in his phone that are meant specifically for blank inspiration. You'll find everything in there from photos of skeins of yarn, to nature and space photos. That said, he often find his favorite blanks don't necessarily start with an inspiring photo but rather by looking at the materials he has available and trying new combinations and methods of pouring. His active engagement with the fountain pen community through pen shows and social media allows him to showcase his works and get inspiration for new ideas.
