Encaustrum finds its roots in the ancient Greek enkaustikos—“to burn in.” More than two thousand years ago, artists fused color pigments with molten beeswax and subjected these to heat, creating encaustic paintings whose brilliance has survived empires, generations, and the passage of time. Their colors remain vibrant today, reminding us that strength forged through fire endures the longest.
Lux, the Latin word for light, symbolizes illumination, hope, and wisdom. Virtus, one of the highest ideals of the ancient Roman world, represents courage, strength of character, and excellence in the face of many challenges.
Together, these values have inspired the creation of Encaustrum Lux Virtus—

Its rich magenta and purplish hues shimmer with subtle golden light, like embers glowing beneath stained glass. Every ink stroke is a tribute to the timeless relationship between fire and creation.

Art has survived unimaginable catastrophes. Ideas have crossed oceans and generations - all because someone chose to write them down.

Encaustum Lux Virtus is a 30ml ink inspired by ancient Roman formulations known for their permanence. This collaborative creation from Tono & Lims and@InkSight1101 opens with a dark pink base representing hope's whisper, transitions to a deep earthy purple reflecting steadfast commitment, and finishes with a luminous gold shimmer symbolizing faith and enduring dreams. Each stroke carries intention, transforming everyday moments into meaningful narratives, one word at a time.
