“Less is more” isn’t just a design principle—it’s how Kiyeon sees the world. As an architect, illustrator, and professor, Kim Kiyeon is passionate about connecting the structural world of architecture and the emotional realm of illustration. When Bounshi invited him to design a watch, he was hesitant—until he realized it was more than a product. It was a chance to tell a meaningful story.
The brand first discovered Kiyeon through his warm, expressive cat illustrations on social media. Inspired by the quiet friendship between a cat and a dog, the watch symbolizes trust, connection, and companionship that transcends words. “I wanted to create something simple but emotionally powerful,” Kiyeon shares. “Not just how it looks—but how it makes you feel.”
Every element reflects that vision—from the clean, minimal design and premium materials to the illustrated, eco-conscious packaging made to be kept and cherished. “Even the box tells part of the story,” he says.
Kiyeon is proud to introduce a watch made with such sincerity and emotion—one that quietly reflects the warmth behind its design, and invites wearers to feel it, too.

BOUNSHI × @kimkanone_ The Original Bounshi Watch
The inspiration for the watch design was the classical round watch on leather of the 1950s, an elegant, sleek, discreet and sober watch case, very comfortable to wear thanks to its smooth rounded shape.
The 36mm case, was chosen for a modern unisex version suitable for young at heart people of all ages.
The strap is made of appleskin, a vegan material recycling apple peels and turning them into a resistant material, with the touch and feel of the softest leather, ideal for watch straps.
A quick release system allows for an easy change of strap within a few seconds.
The Original Bounshi model is a collaboration with @kimkanone_ whose artwork is featured on the dial.

The watch is packed in a sustainable cardboard box with, the unique design of the creatives artwork.
