Meet the Creative: @mattdeford
I’m excited to introduce you to an ink I designed with EndlessPens and Hatch Creative! It’s called Medicine Hat Winter Teal produced by Monteverde. One of my favorite inks is Monteverde’s California Teal. I wanted to create a cooler teal with a silver shimmer.
This is an ink with a backstory! 29 years ago I met Julie. We were in an art class together and started dating. We began getting serious and started to talk about marriage. Over Thanksgiving, we went up to see her family. They lived in the city of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. I came from Houston, Texas and was immediately struck by how very cold it was! There was so much snow! The roads were so slick. I also remember the beautiful frosty trees and the acoustic silence caused by the thick snow. Julie told me that her hometown at the time in the mid 90s was mostly teal.
Next year we will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I wanted to create an ink that would recall the memory of that week in Medicine Hat. I wanted it to contain not only the coolness of winter frost, but also the coziness and warmth that I felt from Julie and her amazing family. I call it Medicine Hat Winter Teal produced by Monteverde. I’m so grateful to be able to share this with you! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

Medicine Hat Winter Teal is a special 30ml ink collaboration between Monteverde and @mattdeford. This cool-toned teal with silver shimmer was inspired by a cherished winter memory, blending the crisp beauty of frost with warmth and nostalgia.
