They began in 2018 as a scrappy two-person operation. Gab and Kai, avid collectors of pens and inks, did everything themselves in a shared space, pursuing what started as a hobby and an exploration of fountain pen inks as an artistic medium.

Their Story
Troublemaker Inks is an artisinal fountain pen ink maker based in Cebu City, Philippines. Every step of the process from the mixing to the packaging is done by hand by a small team with care and intention.
We do our best to create colors that showcase a uniquely Filipino perspective with interesting properties that set it apart from the pack.
It started with the intention of looking beyond the familiar blues and blacks that then dominated the landscape, and our first breakthrough came with a series of colors created specifically to showcase multi-hue shading. To this day, they remain some of the most beloved offerings in our collection.
The three creatures on every bottle of Troublemaker Inks have names! The cat's name is Kitty, the fox is Xy-Xy and the fish is, well, Fish!

Abalone, Milky Ocean, and Golden Orchid Inks
Abalone is a deep, grayish-blue ink that showcases multi-hue shading properties with tones ranging from blue, to purple, and even pink.
Milky Ocean, another classic offering, is a vibrant blurple. We love experimenting with various nib sizes and watching this ink evolve from a rich blue to a mellow purple.
Golden Orchid, one of our newer creations, is a dusty pale purple. It exhibits a multitude of hues including a yellow undertone that is rarely seen in other inks.
