About the Creative

I love art, music, and literature. I'm heavily influenced by Filipino, Japanese and English works while I keep an open eye to everything from anywhere around the world. I like discovering new places, cultures and cuisine. I dream of seeing more countries and knowing more about the universe.

Interview with @ynnamisfits

How did you fall down the rabbit hole of fountain pens and stationery? AKA, the moment that made you fall in love with writing tools and supplies.

I was into writing and stickers since way back, but the greater scope of the rabbit hole, that is fountain pens and stationery, only recently. It all started in 2025 after my friend shared his love for fountain pens and the whole lot. I got curious and bought something generic online. It was steel and it wasn't an expensive pen but I love how it felt writing with it. It looked more polished and I felt more like I'm becoming the writer I always dreamed of being as a child.

What do you do for work? Is there any way this hobby is intermingled with your work?

I'm currently a lot of things professionally. I'm a writer online, graphic designer, and consultant for user interface so generally, It's all leaning towards the creative side. The hobbies I have share the same spectrum of creativity as I love literature, film, music, and art. Relevant to my interests I read a lot of books, watch a lot of film (both mainstream and independent), tons of anime, and go to concerts, theatre, exhibits and festivals that helps expand my worldview and connects me with different kinds of expressions that allows me to learn and keep inspired with life.

What else are you in to that you would like to share with people to better know you?

I was an educator in a state university for three years before I became an Information and Technology associate over the last decade. Then I had a quarter life crises and resigned from my corporate job. During my phase of doubt, I explored if there was something I can do that I would enjoy but won't burn me out. This led me to doing stints for different lifestyle brands and other commercial entities which helped me decide to ultimately brave the creative space. Now it's my full-time career and I'm in love with it.

What words/quote would you like to share to other aspiring creatives?

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
- The Road Not Taken, Robert Frost

What do you believe is the best starter fountain pen? Where should people start?

I'm new to this space but I believe people can start with Jinhao fountain pens. They're beginner friendly and affordable. This kind of fountain pen brands can help beginners decide if fountain pens are for them and will spark the want to commit to more...err...higher quality fountain pens.

What's your go-to pen and ink combo?

Currently I'm frequently using my charcoal Lamy Safari and Wearinguel Black Cat ink, I love inks that sparkle.

What's your favorite color? :)

There's a lot. I love pink as well as shades of blue, green, and yellow.
