About the Creative

I'm an illustrator who enjoys drawing colourful scenes with surrealistic elements. I take inspiration from my surroundings and daily life.

Interview with @pinlinz

How did you fall down the rabbit hole of fountain pens and stationery? AKA, the moment that made you fall in love with writing tools and supplies.

I re-discovered this tool through my friend who gifted a pilot metropolitan with iroshizuku shin-kai ink. I was wondering if there were inks in other colors and that's where I found Sailor's Manyo line. I never thought that inks could have chroma shading properties. After buying my first ink bottle, I fell further down the rabbit hole. More inks is more pens, then more paper and the circle goes on. Big thanks to Rina for kicking off my journey!

What do you do for work? Is there any way this hobby is intermingled with your work?

I'm a digital illustrator. After I discovered fountain pens and paper, it was encouraging to draw more analogously. I journal and write stories for fun, so this hobby complements with my work. It became a habit to do ink sketches as a warm-up before I start my day.

What else are you in to that you would like to share with people to better know you?

I play table tennis and follow anime every season. I enjoy cooking on the side. My journals are filled with doodles about my other hobbies.

What words/quote would you like to share to other aspiring creatives?

Add parts of youself in your creation. Your fascinations, inspirations, emotions, dreams and stories. Everything that makes you YOU. Enjoy the creative process!

What do you believe is the best starter fountain pen? Where should people start?

It depends on what suits your needs. I believe any pen can be a starter (if your budget allows) because they are tools.

What's your go-to pen and ink combo?

Pilot Custom Kaede with Akkerman SBRE Brown. This combo has a vintage vibe. I love it! Then any pen with Pilot Iroshizuki ink is a good combo.

What's your favorite color? :)

This question is so difficult because my artist brain can't make a choice. I'd say any color that can't be described in one word. Such as muted blurple, dusty midnight... Did I just describe 'Moonlight Jellyfish'? ;)
