Interview with @doodlesdamari
How did you fall down the rabbit hole of fountain pens and stationery? AKA, the moment that made you fall in love with writing tools and supplies.
I have tried fountain pens in the past but never really got into it until Covid hit and I wanted new stay-at-home hobbies. What really did the trick this time was discovering the wide range of ink colors and properties available for fountain pens thay we cannot find with other writing tools. Always liked stationery as whole, but I really started getting invested during my Masters. I missed an important meeting and wanted to find a planner that worked for my needs. From then on, after each research, I've became more and more interested in stationery.
What do you do for work? Is there any way this hobby is intermingled with your work?
It's very intermingled with my work. I am a Professor and use fun stationery to keep me engaged with my organization system. It is also a good conversation starter with students and colleagues.
What else are you in to that you would like to share with people to better know you?
I like doodling, journaling, and gaming. I try to combine all of these hobbies together and will often create gaming journals.
What words/quote would you like to share to other aspiring creatives?
Do what makes you happy.
What do you believe is the best starter fountain pen? Where should people start?
Probably cheap and easy to replace pens, because then you won't be scared to experiment and carry them around.
What's your go-to pen and ink combo?
I don't think I have one. I like to switch it up every month or so.
What's your favorite color? :)
Probably grey if I had to choose only one, followed by green.
