Here at EndlessPens, we take pride in the creations from our HATCH program. Each unique fountain pen, ink, washi tape, or other item produced is the result of years of experience in quality craftsmanship brought to life by the artistic spirit of our Creatives. Today, we’ll be featuring one of our Creatives who had great success with HATCH and detailing their experiences in creating something truly unique with the program.
Who is jane_euphoria?
Adrianne Jane Patinio (AJ) is a self-proclaimed “meatball of madness” who makes her presence known on social media as Jane Euphoria or fourcyjackson. She has been sending mail since she was 17 years old, collecting stories from all around the world. Jane loves quiet living but never forgets to add some Stationery Madness to everything and everyone.
We sat down with AJ to discuss her HATCH experience and asked her a few questions.
What is your favorite HATCH creation you've worked on so far? Why do you like it?
I like all of my creations! I guess my favorite outcome would be Bubblegum Rizz. It was a year in the making, and the pre-marketing was absolutely fun. I had free rein because I felt like this was the pen that spoke to my Gen Z, “yassified” self that I was so inspired to make content about it.
What do you like most about the HATCH program? How has it helped you grow as a Creative?
The teasers, for sure. It helped me be confident that my product is me, and putting me out there has risks, but that it doesn’t matter if it was liked or not. It was all about pens and really, truly just being in my element.
What challenges have you faced in the HATCH program, and how have you overcome them?
Probably the talking back and forth and making it the best launch possible. It was a challenge not because it was the bad part but because you get to realize that a pen takes a village to make.
Describe your creative process. How do you go from an idea to a finished product?
I’m big on celebrating me, but most importantly, my friends and family. If I want something that reminds me of them, something I know they will like, I then try to see if a concept I like will mesh well together with theirs. Everything I do, I do for the intention of celebrating the people I love. So if the concept is “the acceptance of femininity through the help of my best friends,” well, Bubblegum Rizz was a testament to that, I guess.
What are your goals for your future as a Creative? How do you see the HATCH program contributing to those goals?
I’d like my own line of stationery products as a Creative — stickers, anything customizable. Something that is sustainable and functional. HATCH is important to me because it’s made me realize that people who care will always have your back. HATCH listens and gives meaningful feedback to my ideas, and when I know something is worth launching, they will listen.
What advice would you give to someone who is interested in joining the HATCH program?
My advice is make something intentional. Make something that not only YOU will like. Make something that enriches the fountain pen community — something that connects people together. When joining HATCH, make sure that your vision can be roughly drawn by you, not just photo pegs you get from Pinterest. Pantone and hex colors are good to include in the Presentation Deck. Be specific and realistic. Give the possible pen makers you’d like to work with. Have fun!
The Bottom Line: Joining HATCH
With HATCH, AJ was able to ignite and realize her creativity, using it as a platform to set her spark alight. If you are interested in joining a vibrant community of artists, showcasing your talent, and collaborating on groundbreaking projects, then HATCH is a great opportunity to consider.
