What is HATCH INKfinity?
HATCH has unveiled an exciting new initiative, the HATCH INKfinity Collection! This program gives our creative partners the chance to launch their own inks in collaboration with trusted global ink brands. True to its name, INKfinity is all about exclusive inks that never run out, meaning, they are always available, always inspiring!

Like our regular HATCH program, INKfinity connects makers and creatives to bring fresh ideas to life. What makes this series truly special is its permanence. Our HATCH INKfinity featured inks earn a lasting spot in our website’s catalog, ensuring extended visibility and continuous support from the community. With INKfinity, these creations aren’t just celebrated once, they’re here to stay.
“By choosing INKfinity, you’re doing more than buying ink. You’re supporting creativity, storytelling, and the people who make this community what it is.” - HATCH Creative team
When you buy a HATCH INKfinity ink you directly support the creative behind the ink. No special codes or steps required, each bottle automatically earns the creator a commission.

Dive Into the Mesmerizing Beauty of Huron Shores
The Huron Shores ink is a stunning collaboration between Robert Oster and @the_inkwitch. Inspired by the scenic and serene Lake Huron in Canada.
More About Huron Shores

Huron Shores stretches across a wide landscape of inland lakes and also leads to the Mississagi Delta Nature Reserve, marking the mouth of the largest river flowing into Lake Huron. As one of North America’s longest shorelines, it showcases pristine sandy beaches, striking dunes, lush forests, thriving wetlands, and expansive river networks.
And for our creative partner, @the_inkwitch, it’s not just a beautiful place, it’s her childhood, her home.

“Lake Huron has always been a ‘Sea’ to me because of its vast open waters. Some places you can look out and not see any land at all, like the Ocean.
I grew up in the southern waters of Lake Huron and now I visit the North Shore of Huron when I need to connect with the earth and cleanse myself.
Lake Huron has the longest shoreline of all the great lakes. She is home to the largest freshwater island in the world and has some of the most stunning waters in Canada.
I designed the ink with this in mind. The teal represents the waters and the glitter is a shout out to all of the stunning sand beaches that Lake Huron boasts. To me, Lake Huron isn’t just a lake or a place to visit. It’s a deeply spiritual body that has supported human life for thousands of years.
It's so exciting to work with Hatch and Robert Oster to make this vision come true. Now I can put Lake Huron in my pens and carry her with me wherever I go!” - Holly D

While not all of us have the chance to see the actual Huron Shores right away, with the Huron Shores ink, you can carry its essence wherever you go. This fountain pen ink blends a deep teal base with rich blue undertones, enhanced by a shimmering silver that evokes sunlit sand. Each stroke bursts with vibrant color on crisp white pages, shading gracefully as it spreads. And when exposed to water or bleach, the chroma reveals even more brilliance, showcasing the ink’s striking saturation and layers of color.

Knowing the story behind the ink, let’s get to know our creative partner better.
Know More About the Artist Behind the Huron Shores Ink
Question 1: Take us to what drew you to finally explore the world of fountain pens and inks? What was the first fountain pen and ink you owned?
The Ink Witch: I actually used dip pens when I was a teen in art class. I was really into art and did a lot of drawing at home. Drawing anime and comics.

When I started with Fountain pens, It was in the creation of my Grimoire. My book of spells. I started off again with dip pens and then it snow balled into Fountain pens. It was inevitable.
My First fountain pen was actually a ‘Maker’ Pen by Leather and Lathe. He was just starting with his business and I messaged him on facebook to buy the pen. I have 6 of his pens now.

Question 2: For those just starting out with fountain pens and inks, what’s the one thing you wish you had known before beginning your journey?
The Ink Witch: Slow down! Getting into this hobby is exciting and overwhelming but the best thing to do is make spread sheets of what you like so you can make planned buying decisions.
Question 3: Do you have a favorite fountain pen nib size, and what makes it special for you when writing or creating?
The Ink Witch: It depends on what I am doing. I like flex nibs and fine nibs for drawing and art work and Medium to bold nibs for writing. Fine nibs are fun for writing but medium to bold nibs show off ink properties better.

Question 4: Which artists or creatives have inspired you most and encouraged you to dive deeper into your creative journey?
The Ink Witch: Naomi Nowak for sure. I was obsessed with Yuki Kaori (由貴 香織里), Amano Yoshitaka(天野 喜孝) and Hideyuki Kikuchi(菊地 秀行) when I was a kid. Gustav Klimt and Alphonse Mucha. I really loved the Art Nouveau movement and it influenced my art greatly.

There are so many artists that have inspired me along the way. Including my Mother. A few years before she passed I ‘taught’ her how to use watercolour and her paintings were really something special. Nature inspired and delicate, they were so loose and unbothered with realism. It taught me to loosen up with my own work.

Question 5: Since you started using fountain pens, how have they influenced or changed the way you write and draw?
The Ink Witch: Fountain pens have actually made me slow down in my process. I use a lot of watercolour and use fountain pens to go in and add hatching after I finish. Fountain pens has made me slow down in this process to create more focused and intentional lines.
Question 6: It’s wonderful to see how fountain pens often lead us toward other creative outlets. What other mediums do you enjoy creating with?
The Ink Witch: I mentioned watercolor. But I also use pencil crayon[s]. I am also a crafter. I mentioned my Grimoire. I sewed that book by hand. I make my own paper and my own notebooks sometimes. I also sew my own clothing. I craft with anything I can get my hands on.

Question 7: Beyond journaling and drawing, what other passions or activities bring joy and keep you busy?
The Ink Witch: I like to hang out with my dog, Luna. We go on hikes. I like to take her camping in the fall. I am a star gazer and sky watcher. I also am a huge gamer. I like to play some games with my husband but also play games by myself. Nothing beats coming home after a long week and going onto my computer to kill some dragons.

Question 8: How did you first find out about HATCH and how was your experience working with HATCH? Is there any specific detail you’re glad you were able to represent in your design?
The Ink Witch: To be perfectly honest, I was surprised when Hatch picked up my project. I don’t have the most followers and when I started my first project with them, I didn’t even have my youtube started. But they believed in my vision. It was so heartwarming that such a popular company wanted to give me a chance.

I really feel that HATCH is wonderful to work with. Everyone who I spoke to while working on my project was professional and kind. I really felt like the HATCH team rallied with me to make my vision come to life. I am excited for what the future brings and for more projects and adventures with HATCH.
Question 9: What’s the best way to keep up with you and your work? (Share your socials)
