Description
The fifth collection to join the Teatime Around the World series is Japanese Tea Ceremony “Cha-no-yu”.
The host carefully heats water and stirs each tea cup to perfection, welcoming guests through a serene and elegant ceremony. This time-honored tradition, dating back to the 15th century with Sen no Rikyu, continues to be treasured today. Every detail—from the teahouse atmosphere and utensils to the sweets and tea itself—reflects the profound spirituality and refined aesthetics of Japanese culture. This ritual is a sensory experience engaging all five senses. Matcha powder is crafted by grinding Tencha, a type of green tea, into a fine powder using a tea mortar. The powder is combined with hot water in a tea cup and whisked using a bamboo tool called the Cha-sen. The ceremony features two styles of tea: Koicha, which is thick and paste-like with an intense flavor, and Usucha, lighter and frothy with a delicate taste.
Inspired by matcha, the Pro Gear Tea Time #5 Japanese Tea Ceremony "Matcha" fountain pen offers a refined writing experience. This mid-sized pen sits between the KOP and Slim models in size. It is equipped with a 21K Gold KOP nib and enhanced by tasteful gold IP plating for an elegant finish.
