Description
Having seen various figurative designs of cherry blossoms, this time the designer used the Kawari-nuri technique to present a highly challenging pink color, expressing the scene of falling cherry blossoms with abstract ideas. The raden shells hidden within the design are reminiscent of sunshine filtering through the cherry blossom forest.
Adding raden shells in the Kawari-nuri process makes it even more difficult. The shells and lacquer have to be polished many times to achieve a smooth and seamless finish, which stands the test of time. The special drying conditions of natural lacquer are extremely cumbersome and time-consuming, requiring dozens of repeated painting and polishing. This process highlights the everlasting collection value of the design.
