Here's a little throwback of our Japan trip some years ago when we visited Fushimi Inari Taisha — beautiful, serene, and magical. A Shinto Shrine in Kyoto, dedicated to Inari (the Shinto God of Rice, believed to have fox messengers). There are thousands of these gates leading into the forest of sacred Mt. Inari.
This trip is one of the experiences that I hold so close to my heart. I visited this temple with my father, my mother, and the love of my life. It's one of those memories that has thankfully remained vivid in my mind. Whenever I am feeling overwhelmed, this memory is definitely something I go back to.
I can still see the light of the sun filtering through the gates, hear the quiet footsteps, and the soft chirping of birds — I look forward to going back someday!
Until then, here is a pen inspired by this most-treasured memory. Tailored Pen Company is an absolute joy to work with, and I’m so grateful to them for bringing my vision to life — from the vermilion and black swirls that represent the thousand Torii gates, to the jumping fox engraved on the nib.
I hope you all enjoy this design! Exclusively sold on EndlessPens. Only 20 pieces total will be available worldwide.
Fushimi Inari Taisha is based of off Tailored Pen Company's Churchill. It is similar to the Westminster with the main difference being that the body and the cap transition smoothly with no difference in size. The ends are more tapered and angle to a point.
- Cap Diameter: 16mm tapering to the end at 14mm
- Body Diameter: 16mm tapering to the end of the pen 13mm
- Type: Fountain Pen
- Body Material: Resin
- Cap Type: Screw
- Filling Mechanism: Cartridge / Converter
- Nib Material: Bock Stainless Steel
