The Taishan and Huangshan are two new limited editions from Aurora dedicated to mountains in China. Mount Tai (Chinese: 泰山; pinyin: Tài Shān) is a mountain of historical and cultural significance located north of the city of Tai’an, in Shandong province. The tallest peak is the Jade Emperor Peak, which is 1,532m (5,029 ft) tall.
Mount Tai is known as the eastern mountain of the Five Great Mountains of China. It is associated with sunrise, birth, and renewal, and is often regarded the foremost of the five. Mount Tai has been a place of worship for at least 3,000 years and served as one of the most important ceremonial centers of China during large portions of this period.
The Aurora 88 Taishan is made from a deep marbled-green Auroloide with yellow gold plated trims to match the solid 18k gold nib that is available in 12 different widths: EF, F, Fine Flex, M, B, BB, OBB, Factory Stub, Factory Italic, and 3 sizes of the new Goccia nib. The cap band is deeply engraved by CNC machine depicting several mountain peaks and the Chinese characters 泰山 for Mount Tai.
One feature that shouldn’t be overlooked is Aurora’s unique piston filling system which provides an small reserve of ink that’s accessible by extending the piston mechanism, providing enough ink for several more pages of writing after the pen initially runs dry. An added benefit to this design is that the filling knob remains extended, acting as a reminder to refill the pen.
The Aurora 88 Taishan is a limited edition of 200 fountain pens made exclusively for the Chinese market, now available on EndlessPens.
